Hello Parents,

WST Mission Statement: The mission of the Winchester Swim Team is to provide a diverse program which supports and encourages swimmers of all levels, and which promotes a sense of sportsmanship, healthy competition, and team spirit.

WST Vision Statement: The Winchester Swim Team (WST) seeks to always operate in an atmosphere where all swimmers feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported in achieving their goals. In addition, the WST seeks to develop a team spirit among family members, as well as swimmers, through continuing to educate them in the sport of swimming and always encouraging families to volunteer in support of their swimmers, their team, and their sport.

WST swimmers had a great weekend at VSI Senior Championship at Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA this past weekend.  Many personal best times and trips to finals.  Congratulations swimmers!

July 20th SVSL Meet Update from Coach Ann… we think our swimmers did very well.  We finished the meet 15 minutes early.  Coach Sarah watched the “start” end of the pool while Coach Ann rounded up our swimmers.  Our older swimmers did a great job working with our younger swimmers/buddies.  All WST parents were very helpful.  SURE WAS A HOT ONE!  Some great swims by many of our swimmers!!  On to SVSL Champs.

This is our last week of summer practice with the SVSL Championship meet scheduled for Saturday, July 27th at Sherando park pool.   Our coaches are finalizing our entries today and we will have an entry list posted to the meet event page soon.  The job sign-up page is posted to the website.  Parents please sign up by midnight on Thursday to help with timing, clerk of course and ribbons.

This week 8 WST swimmers will head to Christiansburg, VA for the VSI Age Group Championships.  This is a  meet with the fastest 14 and under swimmers in Virginia.  Best of luck to our swimmers who have qualified and are attending.  The meet timeline, psych sheet and warm up assignments are posted to the meet event page.

Online Registration for NEW team members is open.  ANew Swimmer Evaluations are scheduled for July 29th, August 20th and 28th.  If you have not registered, please do so asap.   Space within each practice group cannot be guaranteed at this point, it is on a first come first serve basis for current and new swimmers.  With that said we will do everything we can to accommodate all swimmers needs.
