WINCHESTER LONG COURSE INVITATIONAL - JUNE 17-19, 2022
(Message from WST Meet Director Emily Simko)

Discover why some of the wealthiest people in the world are not millionaires; they are volunteers...

Are you looking to get more involved with the swim team but don't know where to start. Helping to plan for the summer swim meet is one of the most significant contributions you could give to the swim team. We will provide training for all volunteers before the swim meet; we want you to have a good volunteer experience.

Please consider joining one of the following committees:  hospitality, concessions, safety, and volunteer. I will provide more detailed information soon. If you have questions or am interested, please call or text Emily Simko, WST Meet Director at 540-247-9888.  I appreciate your consideration.

REMINDER - YEAR-ROUND TEAM MEMBERS: Each family must volunteer for a minimum of 8 hours over the 3-day long course meet on June 17-19, 2022.  If you do not volunteer for the 8 hours, the team will charge each family account $250.  We would much rather have your help than your money.  There are 115 volunteer positions to fill over the 3 day meet.  Also every family will need to donate items for concessions and hospitality.

The Winchester Swim Team (WST) seeks to always operate in an atmosphere where all swimmers feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported in achieving their goals. In addition, WST seeks to develop a team spirit among family members, as well as swimmers, through continuing to educate them in the sport of swimming and always encouraging families to volunteer in support of their swimmers, their team, and their sport.

SWIM CAMP RECOMMENDATION

If any of our swimmers are considering a swim camp I would highly recommend the Mercersburg Academy Swim Camp, Mercersburg, PA.  Just an hour away from Winchester.  They offer 2 session June 19 to 23 or June 26 to 30.   Several of our WST swimmers are attending the June 26 - 30 camp.  The academy is a beautiful private high school campus in the Pennsylvania country side just west of Hagerstown.  They have a 3 year old state of the art aquatics center.  The team there delivers a great experience for our swimmers as they stay 4 nights in the on campus housing duiring the camp.  Many of our current team members attended this camp.  If you have any questions or need additional information please go to their website.  I'm also available to help with questions.  If your register now there is a $100 per swimmer discount off of the camp fee.

WST T-SHIRTS:

We have a handful of towels available for purchase $35.  Also if you are interested in purchasing a WST embroidered Bucket Hat they are available for $35, I have 2 left.  We have WST t-shirts from past years available for $5.  Youth and Large sizes only.    Please email [email protected] if you are interested or have any questions.
