Age Group Region XII Meet Recap After a four-year absence, the Northwest Age Group Regionals meet returned to the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way last weekend. Nearly 800 swimmers came from six states and more than 60 teams to race in one of our region’s biggest meets of the year. For our 12&Unders, this is the premier meet of the entire year. Wave was represented by seven athletes from Senior Epic at the Northwest Spring Sectionals at Federal Way on March 9-12. Among 42 teams racing, we had a phenomenal meet with amazing swims and each swimmer brought home two or more personal best times! It was exciting to watch all the individual races from our swimmers and to feel the energy from our Boys Relays winning some of their heats while dropping their entry times as well. Daffodil Classic Meet Recap Wave's Sport Team and several members of the Select Team trekked down to Tacoma to swim the first day of the Daffodil Classic. A big shout out to all our parents for making the drive to support their kids, and an even bigger shout out to the parents who stepped up and volunteered to time! Wave AGI Meet Recap Wave hosted several PNS teams for the last big meet before championship season. Boys High School Season Recap Senior 1 The Senior 1 group had 9 swimmers compete for their high school teams during the postseason. For many of them this was a great opportunity to race and compete against others we don’t see all that often. The boys took the meets very seriously and the results speak for themselves. PNS Championships Recaps Over the first two weekends of December, Wave competed in the PNS Age Group and Senior Championships, the first full short course championship meets in 3 years! Due to an issue at KCAC, the Age Group championship meet was split in half, with the 12&Unders competing the first weekend at Juanita and the 13-14s joining the Senior Meet the following weekend. Fall Divisionals For most of our Wave swimmers, the Divisionals meet with Issaquah and EAST was their championship for the Fall season. Once again, our swimmers raced superbly, led by Sophia Gorveatt and Vien Pogue, both of whom earned A times and qualified to swim at PNS Champs. In addition, Vien won five gold medals to lead all Wave athletes! Aadhav Saravanan and Sophia followed with four golds apiece, while Olivia Liu, Vincent Ngo, and Kenshin Yokoyama all won three golds! November AGI Meet Recap In the final regular season meet of Fall 2022, our swimmers with BB times and above got to race against WEST, Bellevue Club, Pro Club, and SSCD at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo.
