About Us -
Please note that the WPSC is not currently active for this term or any foreseeable term. If you are interested in assisting with administration of the club by becoming a board member, please reach out to the Waverly School District.

The Waverly Piranhas Swim Club (WPSC) was established in 1964 and is the oldest swim club in the Lansing, Michigan area. All practices are held at the Howard Comstock Pool at Waverly High School which offers a six lane, 25 yard pool.

WPSC participates in intrasquad, dual/tri, and USA Swim meets. WPSC is not a learn to swim club, and we do require that swimmers already have basic swim skills when joining the club. This means a swimmer will need to be able to swim the length of the pool, 25 yards, without holding the sides of the pool or touching the bottom. The intent of the club is to build and improve technique while learning to swim competitively.

WPSC offers four swim levels based on skill set. We are not age group driven, we are skill set driven. New swimmers will be evaluated by our head coach prior to term registration to determine level placement. Returning swimmers are also evaluated by coaches on a regular basis and movement through the four levels is based on skills attained at each level and coach discretion.

Our Mission

Waverly Piranhas Swim Club is a year-round, skill group, competitive swim club designed to enhance a swimmer’s ability at their own pace, as well as to promote life long physical fitness, water safety, and well being.
