The Waverly Piranhas Swim Club is a USA Swimming certified organization.  This includes having our coaches USA Swimming certified. USA Swimming holds their coaches to a higher standard so you can trust that your swimmers are in good hands and are receiving quality swim instruction while at practice and meets.

Joy Eljbeily - Assistant Coach

Joy has been swimming since 2008 and swam with the Waverly Piranhas Swim Club for about 10 years. She graduated from Waverly High School in June 2021. During her time at Waverly, she was a MISCA and State meet qualifier. In her senior year, she was on Lansing State Journal's Dream Team and Swimmer of the Year Finalist. Currently, Joy is enrolled at Michigan State University working towards a civil engineering degree with a minor in environmental sustainability. She is a member of the MSU Swim Club. Joy's favorite events are the 50 free and 100 fly.

Shelby Bunce - Assistant Coach

Shelby graduated from online high school in 2020, and has been attending Great Lakes Christian college for two years. She started swimming when she was in 4th grade and has been passionate about it since! Through her many health troubles she fell away from it during high school, but now, Shelby has the chance to coach kids in doing the thing she loves, and she is so excited!

Jordan Murrell - Assistant Coach

Jordan is from Shelby Township, Michigan where she swam for Great Oaks Country Club, OLY, and Cranbrook Upper School from the ages of 5-18. Jordan’s favorite events to swim in were the 100 and 200 freestyle. Jordan has previous experience coaching the Cranbrook girl's middle school team, the Cranbrook H.U.B program, and Great Oaks Country Club. Jordan is currently attending Michigan State University and is hoping to major in marketing.
