Coach Vanessa is going to NYC to assist with COVID-19 response

Vashon Seals Swim Team

A message from coach Vanessa:

As many of you know, I am an emergency room nurse practitioner. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, I have decided to go to New York City with another nurse practitioner from my clinic. Due to the lack of protective supplies for healthcare workers, I have decided to reach out to my fellow islanders to ask for their help. To date, the response has been overwhelmingly positive and I am working with Vashon Fire Rescue and Medical Reserve Corps Vashon / Vashon Be Prepared to collect supplies for my trip to New York and for the island.

We are looking for donations of the following items:

  • Latex or Rubber Gloves
  • N95 Face Masks
  • Face Shields
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Trash Bags
  • Zip Lock Bags

I leave for New York tomorrow (April 3), but today (April 2), donations can be dropped off at the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie from 9:45 am – 3:00 pm, or the John L. Scott offices. Note that any supplies that I am unable to take with me to New York, will be donated to Medical Reserve Corps Vashon / Vashon Be Prepared.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
