Tammy Tollefson Meixner Head Coach

I started coaching when my kids joined DFAC and it became our swim family.  I have coached for 15 years including 4 years as the Portage HS coach. I am most proud of the team spirit, hard work, and sportsmanship of our swimmers.  I love being a part of the kids’ lives as they learn not only competitive swimming skills, but also focus, goal-setting, discipline, and how to have fun while doing all of that.

I was an avid swimmer, lifeguard, lesson instructor, and pool director through college.  I’m a graduate of UW-Madison with an M.A. in French and a B.A. in Economics and French.  I’ve studied and lived abroad which has given me the chance to swim in beautiful pools in France and Canada, to float in the Mediterranean on 105° days, and to wade into the Atlantic off the coast of Normandy.  I am very happy to back with DFAC:)

Cynthia Mitchell-Potter Assistant Coach

I have been a coach with DFAC since 2003, where I have been fortunate to coach at every age and group level. Currently, I am the Lead Coach of the AG Gold group.  I was born in Upper Michigan, (yup, I am a Yooper), and have always been involved with swimming, starting as a summer youth camp waterfront director, swimming instructor and lifeguard.  I swam club, high school and one year of college.  After graduating from the University of Dubuque, I taught fifth grade in Clinton, Iowa.  We moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota, and I obtained my graduate degree from Minnesota State University, where I worked as a clinical psychologist and a technical college instructor before moving to the Deforest-Windsor area.

You have probably seen my husband, Rick, on deck officiating at meets.  He has been active on the DFAC Board and LSC Board and Official’s Committee.  We have one son, Nicholas.  He began swimming at age six with DFAC, and he signed to swim on scholarship at Miami University.  I love to read and enjoy all water sports, including swimming, boating and scuba diving with my family.

Megan Pilecky Assistant Coach

Megan joined the DFAC coaching staff in Summer 2019. Her swim career was with DFAC swimming for 10 years, where she was a multi-time state qualifier. DFAC swimming was a large part of Megan’s family, as her brother and sister—Mike and Anna—also competed for 10 years with multiple state qualifications and honors. Megan also swam for the DeForest Girls’ swim team, where she qualified for state in relays. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 2018, Megan currently works for the Portage School District as a middle school math teacher.
