Coaches and Directors
My name is Brenda Ritschard, I am the Aquatic Director at the Green County Family YMCA. My husband, Dan and I have been married for 30 years and have 4 great children, Amber 30, Aaron 27, Kylee 21, and Brynn 15. Most of my extra time in the past years went into coaching the Gator swim team, but this year my role has changed, instead of being on deck coaching I will be doing more administrative work. I will miss the interaction with the swimmers a lot but hope they will stop in my office anytime to say hi. The Green County Gator swim team has been a big part of my life and my children's and I hope I can stay apart of this wonder organization for a long time.
My name is Andrea Elgin. My husband, Jason, and I live in Monroe and have 4 children who all love the water. We enjoy spending time together with our family at the lake, as well as camping, hiking, and church activities.
I grew up in Freeport, IL where I began swimming for FAST (Freeport Aquatic Swim Team) around the age of 8. I continued swimming competitively through high school. I decided not to swim competitively when I started college in order to focus on my studies, but have continued to enjoy swimming for fun and exercise. I now work full time as a pediatric physical therapist in the school and birth to three settings, where I get to “coach” children, their parents and teachers in order to help them develop their motor skills. I have also been an official for USA Swimming for the past year. I look forward to teaching kids new skills and passing on my love of swimming through coaching.
My name is Kari Morrison. I live in the country in New Glarus with my three daughters, wonderful husband, and noisy dog. Prior to having kids, I worked at Lake Geneva Badger High School as an Art Teacher and Varsity swim coach.
I grew up in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and started swimming at the age of seven. I swam year round for several teams, including the Madison East Y Octopi. I qualified for the WIAA State swim meet all four years of high school. My favorite events were breaststroke, IM, and relays.
While I was a student at UW-Madison, I returned to my hometown in the summers to help coach the Piranhas swim team and to work as a lifeguard at the Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center.
Many of my fondest childhood memories involved the water. Swimming gave me self-confidence, taught me good work ethic, and helped me to make life long friends.
I am so excited for my daughters to join the Gators this season. I can't wait to smell like chlorine again and to share my love of this sport with the swimmers and families.
