Lake Geneva Swim Club Parent Committees

Membership Committee

This committee helps to welcome all new families to the Lake Geneva Swim Club. This is to ensure that each new family has a contact person to help answer any questions regarding the swim team. Finally, this committee distributes ribbons to swimmers following meets.

Publicity and Communications Committee

This committee works to promote swimmer achievements by providing articles and pictures to local newspapers on the happenings of meets, high point winners, age group winners, record-setting swims, and championship qualifiers. We include all swimmers names and times in these articles, not just the top swimmers.

Additionally, this committee helps to update the team website and the team bulletin board to ensure all families receive team information in a timely manner.

This committee is responsible for promoting all club functions and activities within the community. It also assists with recruiting swimmers and sharing news of club achievements with the public.

Fundraising Committee (including Sponsorships)

This committee is responsible for conducting all club fundraising efforts throughout the season (excluding the Swim-a-Thon). Committee members will work to secure corporate donations to support the annual budget of the club, including soliciting new sponsorships and continually marketing the club to the community. Currently the major fundraisers for the team are the Swim-a-Thon, Night at the Races and the Scrips Gift Card Program.

Laps for Lake Geneva Swim Fundraising Committee

This committee is responsible for planning and promoting the annual Laps for Lake Geneva event. Most activity occurs between October and November.  The annual swim event is held in mid-November thru early December.

Team Spirit Committee

Work with supplier to create and design team spirit wear throughout the season. Act as liaison to PFI Fashions, our Spirit Wear provider. Maintain Spirit Wear records as needed and work with vendor for special event clothing such as Championship Meet attire.

Home Meet Management Committee

This committee coordinates swim meets hosted by LGSC and organizes meet volunteers and officials. Responsibilities include setting up the deck area in pool for all dual/tri meets, tear down and clean up after the meets (including lobby, locker rooms, gym, etc) and managing the concessions stand for all home meets.

Travel Meet Committee

Set up and negotiate hotel rooms at various travel meets that we attend throughout the year. Volunteer and meal assignments will be organized by the travel chair. This may include some championship meets.

Certified Officials

Anyone certified as an official willing to serve at meets, or anyone interested in getting certified as an official this season should select this committee. This committee is active all season at meets.

Social Event Committee

This committee is responsible for organizing and planning any team social events outside of the pool such as a Bowling Party or parade entries.  These events build relationships between all swim families.
