SENIOR CHAMP RESULTS POSTED

March 5-8, 2020 29 Mako athletes traveled to the University of Minnesota to participate in the 2020 Short Course Senior State Championships where there were a total of 650 athletes (360 Women, 290 Men). Results have been uploaded and can be found in My Results.

 

Mako swimmers found themselves on the podium dozens of times including Individual State Champions

Ellery Ottem (100/200 free)

Tom Watry (100/200 free, 100 fly, 100 back, 100 IM)

Individual High Point Award Winners:

Overall Girls – Ellery Ottem (2nd)

Overall Boys – Tom Watry (3rd)

17 year old Girls – Ella Stein

15&U Girls – Ellery Ottem (1st)

 

In addition, the following achieved USA Swimming Winter Juniors cut: Ellery Ottem 200 free; NCSA cuts: Ellery Ottem in the 1000 free (also qualifying for the 1650) and the 200 IM; Evie Wood in the 200 back; Sydney Rogness in the 200 breast. Rhian Neitzel achieve the bonus NCSA cut in the 100 breast

All the above and a total of 200+ individual splashes that resulted in nearly 50% personal bests and Mako Aquatics finishing 1st out of 10 Teams in the AA Division and 4th overall out of 48 teams in Team Standings. Additionally, the Girls finished 2nd. Congratulations to all that competed! Good Luck to our Age Group Champ athletes this coming weekend in Rochester and to our National Team athletes next week at NCSAs in Orlando!
