NATIONAL TEAM SHINES AT FINAL MEET

Coach Zimdars

I cannot say enough about how proud I am of these 5 athletes.  We were scheduled to be at Nationals, racing today.  However, fate had another plan and their national meet was canceled last Thursday afternoon.  As you can imagine, this was devastating.  We moved forward knowing we could not change what was happening around us.  We decided to run a mini-meet, suit up and put the electronic timing system in, so the times would count for team records and personal best times.  We even had officials, my Dad and another official yesterday and my Dad again today (he officiates all of our meets).

They truly stepped up to this challenge and did an outstanding job!  We had walk up music and announced names.  Everyone wore their national outfitting gear and they just had fun while supporting each other, too.  We ended up with 2 new team records, lots of best times, and new Top 10 historical times, too.

Team Records:
Girls 400 medley relay (10 year old record):  Ella G, Ella H, Dani, and Grace.     ** so much fun to watch **
Dani Cramer 100 fly

Best Times/Top 10 Historical (ranking):
Dani Cramer:  100 fly (1st)
Grace Foucault:  50 free, 100 IM
Ella Gorski:  50 back, 100 back (5th), 50 free, 100 free, 100 breast
Ella Houwers:  200 breast (5th), 200 IM (5th)
Young Liang:  300 IM, 300 Breast (tried some new events)

The girls raced the 200 medley relay and swam outstanding splits on that, as well.

CONGRATULATIONS ON STEPPING UP, RACING WITH GRIT, MAKING A FUN MEET, AND BEING THERE FOR EACH OTHER!
