Minis 

This group is for new swimmers normally between the ages of 6-8. New swimmers must complete a swim evaluation to see if ready to join. Practice is safe, fun and has a purpose. It is not an open pool time. Swimmers must be able to and want to, swim one length of the pool without stopping and be part of group instruction. We focus on foundational skills and stroke technique they will use their whole life as swimmers. Together as teammates we have fun and swim fast too!

  • Recommended Ages: 6-8 years old *with a swim eval

  • Practices: 2 times per week, generally Tuesday/Thursday afternoon

 

Kickers Team 

This group is for swimmers who moved up from Minis, or who have prior swim experience and have passed a swim evaluation. Most Kickers are between 8-10 years old. Swimmers must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool (50 yards) without stopping. We build on the foundational skills introduced on Minis and add stroke-specific drills and beginning set work.  

  • Recommended Ages: 8-10 years old *with a swim eval

  • Practices: 3 times per week, generally Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoons

 

Travelers Team 

This group is for the more experienced swimmers ages 9-11. Must be able to swim 100 yards without stopping and be familiar with the 4 competitive swimming strokes. Emphasis will be placed on more advanced training techniques, skill development, and improvements. Stroke specific drills will be used and more advanced set work will be taught.

  • Recommended Ages: 9-11 years old

  • Practices: 5 times per week, generally Monday – Friday afternoons.

  • 3-day Travelers option is available

 

Extreme Team 

This group is for the more experienced swimmer ages 11-13. Must be able to swim 100 yards without stopping and be familiar with the 4 competitive strokes. Emphasis will be placed on advanced stroke techniques, skill development, and improvements. Racing strategies, stroke-specific drills, and more advanced training strategies will be taught.

  • Recommended Ages: 11-13 years old

  • Practices: Extreme Team will practice 8 times per week, Monday – Friday morning, Tuesday morning dryland and occasional Saturday practices.

  • Extreme 3-day option is available

 

Senior 13-14

This group is for swimmers ages 13-14 years old transitioning from Extreme to Senior team or for high school swimmers new to club swimming.  Senior 13-14 members must be able to swim 200 yards without stopping and will work towards completing a legal 400 IM. Emphasis will be placed on stroke technique, stroke-specific drills, skill development, and fitness improvement. Training and racing strategies will be taught for distance, IM, and sprint swimming.

·        Required Age: 13-14 

·        Practices: M-F afternoon/evening, Saturday morning. 1-2 weekday mornings optional.

·        Example Sets:

o   10x 100 @ 1:40, Freestyle

o   3 x 300 @ 6:00 Freestyle

o   10 x100 @ 2:15 Kick

o   4 x 200 @ 3:45 IM

 

 

Senior 1

This group is for experienced swimmers with State qualifying times in the Senior age group or for swimmers 15+. Swimmers in this group are training for State, Zone, and National level competition. Emphasis will be placed on advanced stroke techniques, stroke-specific drills, skill development, and fitness improvement. Advanced training and racing strategies will be taught for distance swimming, IM swimming, and sprint swimming. Regular practice and meet attendance are expected.

·        Required Ages: 

·        Practices: Monday-Thursday evenings, 3-4 mornings, Saturdays.

·        Example Sets:

o   16 x 100 @ 1:30, Freestyle

o   6 x 300 @ 5:00 Freestyle

o   10 x100 @ 2:00 Kick

o   8 x 200 @ 3:15 IM
