Interim Head Coach (Full Time Salaried)

This contract position will cover the period of August 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Opportunity to hire on full time at termination of Interim Contract. 

An average of 40 hours per week balancing on-deck coaching, off-deck administration, and club contact, adjusted as necessary for club obligations. 

As the Head Coach, you are responsible for the day to day operations of the team. Your areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and maintaining a coaching staff, to include conducting coach development sessions with assistant coaches.
  • Creating a plan for each session and directing all assistant coaches in weekly workout training plans.
  • Coach a majority of the weekend meets attended by RFSC and scheduling assistants as needed.
  • Managing and maintaining the team website.
  • Primary responder to parent emails and phone calls; responses completed in a timely manner (within 24 hours).
  • Communicating with all members of RFSC about upcoming events and pertinent information, primarily through weekly newsletters.
  • Communicating with the High School administrators on an as needed basis, including scheduling pool time for all practices and meets for the club for the year.
  • Manage the RFHS pool equipment and deck area and maintaining positive and open communication with the administrators and custodians of the high school.
  • Coordinating the meet schedule for the season and submitting all meet entries for each meet.
  • Coordinate with and oversee Volunteer/Meet Director for all hosted swim meets. Assist with tracking completeness of volunteer requirements each session.
  • Coordinate with and oversee Registrar for registration of each session through the year.
  • Ensure all home high school swim meets are appropriately staffed with lane timers and meet manager operators to run an efficient meet.
  • Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and provide an update on current club happenings and seek board input as appropriate.
  • Working with the treasurer to budget and effectively schedule staff within the budget constraints.
  • Developing and maturing the program to continue to grow and expand within the community.

Assistant Head Coach (Full Time Salaried)

This full time position works in coordination with the Head Coach on deck and to help grow the team and organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide coaching to all groups up to 5 nights per week under the guidance of our Head Coach.

Additional duties and areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Daily communication and coordination with the Head Coach for planning and execution of practices.
  • Assisting in managing and maintaining the coaching staff, to include planning coach development lessons either via email or in-person for rest of coaching staff.
  • Creating a Season Plan for each session and directing all assistant coaches in weekly workout training plans.
  • Creating daily workouts with each assistant coach, and helping develop coaching staff in workout writing and planning.
  • Coaching the majority of the weekend meets attended by RFSC and coaching all home swim meets.
  • Helping at all home HS swim meets as meet manager operator and ensure meets runs efficiently.
  • Work with Head Coach to expand, develop and mature the program to continue growth and awareness within the community.

Team Administrator (Part Time Salaried)

The Team Administrator is primarily responsible for working with the Head Coach to conduct the day to day "dry side" operations of RFSC. 100% Flexibility on hours and location, typical week is 15-20 hours of work, but at peak times in preparation of significant team events can be full time. 

As the Team Administrator, your major areas of responsibility will be:

  • Managing and Maintaining the Team Unify website.
  • Communicating with the High School administrators on practice time, meets, and any scheduling issues.
  • Assisting at all scheduled team invites throughout the course of the year.
  • Managing all volunteering requirements and tracking for completeness each session.
  • Assisting the Head Coach with registration events throughout the year.
  • Responding to parent emails and phone calls in a timely manner (within 24 hours), if Head Coach is unavailable to respond.
  • Maintaining positive and open communication with the administrators and custodians of the High School.
  • Communicating with all members of the RFSC about upcoming events and pertinent information, primarily through weekly newsletters.
  • Attending Board of Directors Monthly meetings.
  • Keeping the Board President and Head Coach informed and up to date on activities and information relevant to the club.
  • Supporting and assisting the Head Coach in other administrative tasks as communicated over the course of the year.
  • Working to expand and grow the club within the community, lead fundraising and sponsorship initiatives and committees.

Competitive Team Coach (Hourly)

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide coaching to the five competitive groups (Novice Transition, Novice, Age Group, Pre-Senior & Senior) up to 5 nights per week under the guidance of our Head Coach. 

  • Must be at least 17 years old. 
  • Must complete background check prior to hire. Must complete all USA Swimming coaches training and certifications within one year of hire.
  • Maximum of 15 hours per week of on deck coaching, opportunity to coach at swim meets on the weekends. 
  • Competitive pay, negotiable based on experience.

Developmental Lessons Coach (Hourly)

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide in-water coaching to the Developmental classes up to 4 nights per week under the guidance of our Head Coach and Developmental Director.

  • Must be at least 14 years old. 
  • Maximum of 6 hours per week of in-water coaching. 
  • Competitive pay, negotiable based on experience.
