We are already to the last week of the spring portion of the session! I know most of you are here for the whole session, so nothing changes for you other than swim location, times, and adding some more teammates! Read on as this week is packed with important info!

Erik is one of our 3 high school seniors this year. He has been a leader on our team and someone our swimmers of all ages look up to. We wish him the best of luck at Gustavus. Continue swimming fast Erik!

Erik had this to say about his time with RFSC:

I have been on RFSC for eight years, and I have some of my fondest memories attached to the team.  While my high school allegiance is tied to Hudson, I also have a second home in River Falls.  Mike is, without question, the best coach anyone could ever ask for, and I am so lucky to have been able to swim under him.  My favorite memories on the team include water polo, the IM Set of Death, the state meets, and one particularly terrible dryland day.  Next year, I am attending Gustavus Adolphus College and I am continuing to swim for their program.  I’m very excited to continue swimming, but I will greatly miss River Falls!

We will be back at the high school starting Monday the 10th with our new practice times for the summer!!!

Last week I emailed volunteer opportunities to those needing to fulfill their requirement. One opportunity has been completed. The other is helping prepare our entry for the RF Days Parade. Participation in the parade is not a requirement. Please let me know ASAP if you would like to help our board president plan & execute our parade decor. We need to get started very soon. We are looking for about 10 adults or swimmers over 13 to help. 1 person = 2 points.

As a reminder, all families doing the full session are required to complete 2 points of volunteering. Spring only or summer only must complete 1 point. Volunteering not completed will be billed $50 per point not completed.

For those holding out for a more interesting opportunity - don't hold your breath!! I am not sure what I will be able to pull together for options. Not hosting a swim meet reduces our opportunities. I will be sending out an update on volunteering completed the week of June 10 once all of our new families are in place.

To be considered for this, the Coaches are looking for things like a positive attitude, hard work, showing improvement on technique, being on time for practice, listening to coaches, respecting teammates, etc. Congrats to our swimmers of the month: Ashley Symicek and Collin Peterson! Please see Brenda for a special swim cap!

Have a great weekend!
