Tyler Hines Head Senior Coach

Tyler has been coaching since he was 14 years old. In high school, Tyler gave private technique lessons and ran a swim lessons program at a local country club. In college, Tyler coached at the University of Wisconsin Swim Camp and served as the Head Age Group Coach for the Waunakee Wave Swim Team. For the past 3 years Tyler coached all age groups at Schroeder YMCA Swim Team.

 

Tyler grew up in Normal, Illinois and swam for the Redbird Swim Club from its founding through a highly succesful era in which the club won three state titles. Tyler won multiple club state titles in the distance freestyle, IM and backstroke events as an age group swimmer and was a high school All-State and All-American performer for University High School in Normal.

 

Tyler went on to swim for the University of Wisconsin where he was a four year letter winner and was honored with the Most Improved Athlete as a sophomore and the Badger Award and Big Ten Sportsmanship award as a senior. In the 200 freestyle, Tyler improved from a 65th place finish at Big Ten Championships as a Freshman to an 8th place finish as a Senior. He anchored NCAA qualifying and school record breaking 800 freestyle relays as a junior and senior and was named Honorable Mention All American as a senior.

 

Tyler graduated law school in 2018 and currently serves as an administrative law judge hearing unemployment insurance cases for the State of Wisconsin. In his spare time Tyler enjoys reading, exercising, and studying biomechanics.

Jenny Holtzen Hines Head Age Group Coach: AGG, AGS, AGB

Jenny grew up swimming for the Razorback Aquatic Club in Northwest Arkansas. During her age group career, she was named Arkansas Swimmer of the Year over 10 times, broke several state records that stand today, and competed at high-level swim meets, including Senior Nationals and U.S. Open. After a successful age group career, Jenny moved to Madison, where she earned a degree in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and swam for the Badgers. During her time with the Badgers, shewas a multi-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the 1650 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 400 IM, and 200 breaststroke and went on to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors. She finished her career competing at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Jenny also met and later married fellow Badger swimmer, Tyler Hines.

Jenny started coaching at age 15, working with summer league teams in Arkansas. While competing for the Badgers, she volunteered as a coach and counselor for the Badger Swim Camp for 4 summers. At the conclusion of her swimming career in 2016, Jenny immediately began coaching and has worked with teams in Madison, Chicago, and the Milwaukee area.

Jenny's main goal as a coach is to provide an environment that challenges swimmers in a way that enables them to learn and grow within the sport and in their lives outside of the pool.

Robert White Owner: Junior Lead Coach

Robert White is an American Swimming Coaches Association Level 5 coach. His teams have won over 60 Wisconsin Senior, Age Group and WIAA High School state swimming championships. He has developed and trained numerous Olympic Trials, US Senior & Junior National Qualifiers and Finalists. This includes a USA Senior National Long Course Champion and American Record Holder, as well as many other World Ranked senior and age group swimmers. In 1981 he served as a coach member of the United States National Swim Team that competed in a dual meet against the Soviet Union National Swim Team in Kiev, Soviet Union, in which the United States won. This gave White the opportunity to work with the top US National team members, including Olympians and World Record holders.

Ann White Age Group Assistant Coach

Ann White was the head coach of Arrowhead Girl's Swimming Team from 1980-1988, coaching them to their first state championhip in 1987. She is a two-time Wisconsin Girls' High School Swimming Coach of the Year. 

In addition to successfully coaching high school students, Ann taught 7th and 8th grade at Asa Clark Middle School in the Pewaukee School District, and coached boys and girls middle school track in the 1990's. 

Ann also coached age group swimmers as 8 and unders and novice swimmers and worked with them as they progressed to state champions. 

Her daughter Emily is still a swimmer and lives in Brooklyn, NY and her son Jesse was also a swimmer occasionally swims in San Francisco, CA where he lives. 

Ann likes to swim at Wilson Park in the summer, read, and is a Masters Gardener.
