Third Session Starts Tonight Tonight starts our third registration cycle and weather-permitting we’ll be at Ripley Park tonight. For families that haven’t been there before, make sure your GPS is making you take a turn into the park right beside Lake Ripley Lanes. We’ve had a few people on the wrong side of the lake. If you didn’t register between Thursday and now, YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS. Dryland Registration We’ve got spots in each group for some swimmers. We’ve worked hard to find a way...

Registration #3 Update—Minor Group Changes in Pool Dane County’s Forward Dane Phase 2 provided some small changes that will affect the team. For those of you that didn’t sit in on the meeting, we talked on the 14th about the potential changes: Per Forward Dane, groups of 12&U kids are still mandated at no more than 15. Groups of 13&O kids can now have as many as 25. However, adding even ONE 12&U to a group of 13&Overs takes the limit back down to 15. Here’s how they’ll affect the...

So, because absolutely nothing will come easy this summer, I wanted to go over a few things for open water practice starting tomorrow. After having our near 90 degree days when we didn’t want them, we’ll have a low temperature of 48 tonight. It’ll be chilly at the lake tomorrow but not bad. With the amount of time we’re swimming and the shallow water we swim in, I think we’ll be fine. Any swimmer wanting to try out their new wetsuit purchase, tomorrow’s a great experiment. Seemingly each spring, the...

I apologize for the length of these emails. I know a 1200 word essay is not what you’re in the mood for, but there’s a TON happening right now. The Switch in Registration Styles It’s taken some time, but we’re now doing all of our summer registrations on TeamUnify. This will allow us to have families pay when they enter instead of forcing our parent volunteers processing 200+ registrations every two weeks. It also allows easier signing of waivers and for us to contact families easier for things like weather...

Parents, I wanted to check in with everyone and give a bit of an update. I’ve been doing Zoom meetings with Wisconsin Swimming and USA Swimming pretty regularly, keeping abreast of the COVID situation and how it will affect the team and the sport going forward. While the situation keeps changing, we’re starting to see how big an effect it will have on us for a LONG time. I wanted to thank everyone who donated money to the team in the last few weeks. It’s such a tough situation for...

Dear Storm Families, We are living in uniquely interesting times that are creating some challenges for our non-profit swim team. While we’re able to weather the storm now, we are entering very unknown times. Like many, we have had to make some tough decisions. First, in the interest of saving resources and being mindful of team safety, we are cancelling our annual awards banquet that was scheduled for April 19th. Awards will be announced via social media in the coming month. Also, in light of not knowing when swimmers will...

All, We wanted to give Storm families as many updates as we could with the upcoming season and events. Things are changing from day to day, so as we get more updates we’ll adjust accordingly with the focus on safety for our families. State of the Team Meeting Next week’s State of the Team Meeting has been postponed. While there are important things to be discussed, healthy and safety trumps all and we’ll reschedule the meeting for a better time for everyone. Spring Session Start We don’t know a start...
