Alan Lerner Associate Head Coach

The Sun Prairie Storm Swim Team is pleased to announce the hiring of AJ Lerner as our new Associate Head Coach.  AJ will be the face of our 12&Under program but will also work with Coach White at all levels to make a unified program top-to-bottom.  Coach AJ comes to us from Stoughton but is no stranger to the program, having been here when Storm was started.  AJ also spent time as the head coach for the Sun Prairie Piranhas.

“AJ brings head coach experience, detailed technical knowledge about swimming, and knows what to expect with swimming in Sun Prairie,” said Head Coach, Michael White.   “I believe his unique skill set and love for the sport will make an impact on Storm for many years to come and will allow us to grow even stronger as a team.”

Coach AJ has over 25 years of swimming experience spanning across multiple associations, including: Madison’s All-City League, USA Swimming, WIAA high school swimming, and NCAA Division I collegiate swimming as a member of the UW Badgers. He has won multiple state titles and was a three-time All-American swimmer, with some of his records still standing decades later.

He believes that swimming is about the 3 F’s: Fun, Fitness, and Family. The fun from learning success through hard work and play, the fitness gained by developing healthy training/exercise habits, and the lifelong friends that are built through a close-knit swimming family.
