The lessons group is targeted to youth participants above 6 years of age who have had little to no experience in diving. This program is an introductory session the will teach the fundamentals of springboard and platform diving. Within this session, participants will learn basic skills grouped into four different levels from basic to pre-competitive team skills. They will include but are not restricted to, stretching techniques, proper body alignment, body positions (tuck, pike and straight), how to properly enter the water head first (both front and back entry), front and back take-offs, variations of jumping positions, and front and back dives. These skills are gained on and off the diving board and lower level platforms that will enable participants to progress towards more advanced skills and/or dives.   Participants should be strong enough swimmers to be deep end of the pool.

Schedule / Cost

Lessons are offered Monday & Wednesday from 6:15-7:05. Participants register for 1 session consisting of a 50 minute lesson, once a week for 6 weeks at a cost of $110. If desired, participants may sign up for more than one session.

How It Works

Schroeder lessons are designed that each night can accommodate brand new divers to returning lesson participants and divers that may have had instruction outside of the Schroeder programs. The sessions are customized to each diver’s skill level; having 4 different skill levels ranging from extreme novice skills to the minimum skill requirements to move forward onto the competitive team. Once participants complete all the level requirements, they may have the opportunity to join the competitive team. If the levels are not completed or the diver does not wish to join the competitive team, participants are encouraged to sign up for more lessons.

To register, click on the link "Register Here" next to the lesson you wish to sign up for. You will be then taken to an online registration form. After completing the form, you can choose to pay via credit card or bring a check made out "WSAC" to the first day of lessons. When you press submit on the form, we will receive your registration information whether you choose to pay online or not. Please note that lessons have limited openings to result in the best diver to coach ratio. If your desired night is no longer open, please contact Todd Hill at [email protected]. Divers will not be allowed to participate until payment is received.

Required USA Diving Registration

Divers are required to have an Athlete membership with USA Diving in order to participate. The Athlete USA Diving Membership is required due to the necessary insurance needed to participate.
