This was the first time we brought a group to Winter Juniors and it was a success! Athletes were separated into East/ West, we competed in the West in Austin Texas. This meet included 4 olympians and several highly talented athletes throughout the country. Alana Berlin finaled in the 200 IM and placed 5th in the 100 Back and 6th 100 Fly. Over the weekend, Schroeder travelled to Verona to compete at the Single Age meet! There was some great competition from all over the state! There were some great races and lots to learn. Sam Lorenz had a strong meet in Greensboro, NC after a very busy fall. Sam's preparation in 13 weeks was chopped up with five visits to universities, Illness and a trip to the Olympic Training Center. With all of the disruption to his training schedule, the goal was to gain exposure to this level of competiton and to learn as much as possible. Schroeder has been recognized as a Silver Medal Club in USA Swimming's Club Excellence program for 2023 based on 2022's 18 & Under swimming performances from athletes not yet in college programs. 2022's performance was the second consecutive year earning Silver medal status which place SSTY in the top 100 teams of 2832 member clubs in USA Swimming. It is and has been a program goal to become one of the top 20 or Gold Medal team and this past year is a step in the right direction! Read More...
