Update Regarding Masks

Angela Monty

Good Morning Team Wisconsin,

We received some news that will impact everyone attending the Zone Meet this weekend.  There has been an update to the Hosptial-Wide policy that is a 100% compliance policy, and is in effect for all Beacon Health System facilities, effective Friday.

COVID-19 infection rates are on the rise in our region, fueled in large part by the Delta variant, which is actively present in our community. The CDC defines our region as experiencing “substantial community transmission.”
For this reason, Beacon Health System has announced that all associates, patients, and visitors are required to wear a mask at all times in any Beacon facility. This applies to Beacon Health & Fitness and our members as well, and is regardless of vaccination status. Both vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals will need to wear a mask at all times while in any of our Beacon Health & Fitness clubs, effective Friday, August 6, 2021. We recommend paper, 3-ply masks which have proven more effective than cloth masks, bandanas, or “gaiters.”
The COVID Task Force at Beacon Health System made this proactive decision for the increased safety of not only our patients, club members and associates, but also their families, friends and colleagues.
We are proud to continue to make the health and safety of everyone in our community our highest priority. We understand that for many this news will be disappointing. Together, we can overcome this variant of the virus through increased vaccination rates. If you or a loved one have considered getting vaccinated, we urge you to do so. For information about the vaccine and to schedule an appointment to get vaccinated, please visit: https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/

It is the meet host's intent to continue with our event as planned, adding mandatory mask usage.  Team Wisconsin is thankful for the opportunity to attend the 2021 Zone Meet at this new venue and will support this decision so the meet can continue and our athletes can compete.  We are asking that all coaches, athletes and spectators comply with the mask mandate so that our athletes can focus on fast racing.  If Team USA can do it, so can Team Wisconsin!

We will see everyone at the pool!

Swim Strong,

Coach Angela
