Following the completion of the USA Water Polo ODP Men's National Team Selection Camps, rosters have been announced for the Youth, Cadet, and Development squads. Out of the athletes selected for each of these teams, competition rosters will be determined for all upcoming events in 2021. 2021 April/May Schedule We are currently waiting for the pool schedule for the upcoming 2021 April/May Session- The High School Waterpolo Season starts April 5 and will continue through May 28th. This obviously affects our practice times, once those times are confirmed we will open registration- please have patience.
Jack Brown, our senior team coach is leaving CCU for the USC Mens Water Polo Team strength and conditioning program. Jack, of “Aqua Strength” fame, has been coaching with CCU for the past 3 years, initially with the 14U program, then the 18U program, this past year Jack has been coaching our Men’s senior team- a team that consisted of primarily college age players and graduating seniors. Jack will return to CCU in May 2021.
Congratulations to Stephen Loomis our CCU 16U Head Coach who has been named the assistant coach of the UCSB Mens Water Polo program. Stephens begins in that capacity- today January 1 20201. Stephen will also become the director of the Santa Barbara Premier Club Water Polo program. Stephen has been an integral part of CCU for the past 6 years. CCU Update Thank you for participating in the last 3 week session. We have navigated fires, wind, power outages- not to mention a certain virus. The players are progressing in their skill development and conditioning. Everyone is looking forward to playing to some games. The next session will be November 2 through December 6 (5 weeks). 2020 CCU Fall Update The 2020 Fall session begins on Monday August 31 and will last 6 weeks, ending Friday October 9. Our practice time at Acalanes High School has become severely impacted by High School Water Polo- we are limited to 330-645pm during the week. We are currently awaiting approval for Sunday practice time from the Acalanes School District. Practice Age groups are defined by the age of the player on Aug 1, 2021.
