Brent Boock Head Coach - SI&II Lead Coach

Coach Boock started as a member of the Elmbrook coaching staff in 1993. At Elmbrook he has enjoyed working with hundreds of swimmers striving to reach their full potential including many state champions, zone level swimmers, and national top 16 swimmers. Coach Boock enjoys running, biking, swimming and leading an active life.

Michael Rose AI&II - Lead Coach

Mike has been with EBSC in various capacities for a LONG time.  As a swimmer (1974-76), coaching round 1 (AG and Senior 1982-86), parent (2003-15), coaching round 2 (AGT 2005-14, AG 2014 to the present). Mike has also coached the high school teams at Brookfield East (Boys 1983 to 1997, Girls 1985 to the present) and a bit at Brookfield Central.  During that time, he has coached many state champions, All American’s and top national club swimmers.  Many of his former swimmers are current EBSC parents!

In addition to coaching Mike taught at Math at Brookfield East from 1993 to 2018 and currently teaches part-time after retiring from East.

Mike is married to Carol (the girls diving coach).  They have 4 kids who all swam for EBSC from novice through Junior Nationals with a couple of 4 year college swimmers.

Laren Tiltmann SI&II Assistant Coach

Entering my 11th season with Elmbrook swim club, working primarily on the senior side of the program. The past 4 years have been spent working with Senior 3/4 group, introducing all our age group swimmers to senior swimming. Just recently I have moved up to assist with the Senior 1/2 program.

I'm married to an ex-EBSC swimmer Heather Ericksen, and have two current swimmers Reilly and Reese in the program. My oldest daughter Reegan graduated from EBSC in 2019 and currently swims for the Florida Institute for Technology in Melbourne, Florida. I swam with the EBSC masters crew for 6 years before returning to coaching.



Anthony Kolbus SIII&IV - Lead Coach

Anthony was a competitive swimmer for 17 years. He grew up in South Bend, Indiana swimming club for the Michiana Stars and Saint Joseph High School. He swam NCAA Division 1 at UW-Milwaukee for 2 years as a sprinter and flyer. For two years, Anthony coached at the North Shore Swim Club before finding a new home at EBSC.

Carissa Paasch TI&II - Lead Coach

Carissa is in her 4th year of coaching with EBSC. Carissa swam for 13 years with EBSC; competing at the state and national level. She also swam for Brookfield Central all four years of high school as well as at UW- La Crosse for one season; graduating from UWL in May of 2014. She studied Early Childhood Education at UW-Milwaukee and graduated in May of 2016. Carissa currently teaches Kindergarten in West Allis. She has coached the girls and boys swim teams at Brookfield Academy and swims Masters with EBSC. Other things Carissa enjoys doing include traveling, working out, and spending time with family and friends.

Kristen Malloy NI&II - Assistant Coach

Coach Kristen started coaching for Elmbrook Swim Club in 2005.  After moving to Wisconsin. she swam for Elmbrook, Brookfield Central, and then competed 4 years as a varsity swimmer at St. Norbert College.  Coach Kristen is a Title I teacher at a private school in Milwaukee.  She spends what free time she has with her husband, Tim, and children, Jonathan, and Samantha.

Van Donkersgoed NI&II - Lead Coach

My name is Van Donkersgoed. I grew up in Minnesota, swimming for Aquajets Swim Team from the ages of 11-18. I went on to swim collegiately at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where I was the team captain for two seasons. My last season of college, due to injury, I was the volunteer assistant coach for the Men's program. I graduated Northwestern with a degree in social policy and legal studies. After graduation I moved to Milwaukee. I have been with Elmbrook for three years. I am pursuing a law degree at Marquette University and will graduate in May of 2020. In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, volunteering for USA Swimming, and golf. I still swim masters on occasion, too. 

Fred Russell Masters - Lead Coach

Coach Russell has coached swimming and water polo for over 50 years, over 32 of which with Elmbrook! He has coached a national champion(s) at every level including age group, junior national, senior national, collegiate, and masters. While he was Senior Coach of EBSC, alumni went on to compete at over 80 different colleges and universities. Coach Russell is married to Karen and shares his home with his pet bird Herman.

Anne Leupold AI&II - Assistant Coach

Anne is an elementary teacher and currently teaches 4th grade at Blessed Sacrament School in Milwaukee.  She swam for EBSC competitively from age seven through her senior year of high school.  She graduated from Brookfield East High School and swam on the Varsity team for all four years.  In college, she swam on the UW-Whitewater swim and dive team for four years, ending her career as a senior captain for the team in 2013. She also has worked at the Wiberg Aquatic Center and is now the supervisor for the EBSS swim lesson program and the Precompetitve program offered by our team. On her off time, Anne enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, or catching up on her favorite shows! 

Tricia Casper Assistant Coach

Coach Tricia has been attached to most of the groups at Elmbrook at various points over the last 14 years as either a lead coach or an assistant.  Throughout her coaching career, Tricia has taught lessons to all levels of children and adults, trained triathletes, coached state qualified high school swimmers, and during college, ran the recreation swim lesson program for the University of California, San Diego.  Tricia and her husband, Jeff, have two boys, Tyler and Brandon. Tyler swims with Elmbrook in the Senior group and Brandon plays baseball, basketball and soccer.  Tricia enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, keeping up with her boys and their activities, and taking adult classes through Milwaukee Ballet School.

Tracey Plate Assistant Coach

Tracey has been with the swim club in different capacities since 2011 when the oldest of her two daughters joined the club.  Most recently you may have seen her around the pool in her volunteer coordinator capacity where she works with all the Elmbrook staff to ensure that things run smoothly at every home meet.  She currently works at Burleigh Elementary as a certified health room assistant. Tracey enjoys the outdoors with her husband Jeff and the girls, hiking, biking and camping.  She hopes to instill her love of an active lifestyle for life in all the swimmers.

Margaret Lotzer Assistant Coach

Coach Margaret Lotzer is in her first year with EBSC as a Senior Assistant Coach but has been a coach for the past 5 years.  She graduated from UW-Whitewater and was a part of their siwm and dive program for 4 years.  She has a degree in Elementary Education and teaches 2nd grade in Franklin.  Margaret is excited to join Elmbrook Swim Club and looks forward to getting to know the swimmers and families.



Jordynn Balducci Junior Coach

Jordynn Balducci swam on club teams competitvely for 12 years, 6 of them on EBSC.  She competed at the state level for 4 years while on Elmbrook.  She is a Senior in high school and currently swims for Brookfield East.  Outside of the pool, she is very involved in leadership positions in several school clubs and currently the Senior Class President.  She enjoys working with children and is excited for her second year with EBSC as an assistant coach.



Clare Freitag Junior Coach

Clare swam on EBSC for eight years and loved her experience so much that she wanted to coach! She also swims on Brookfield East’s Varsity swim team and is super excited to be a captain next year as a senior. Clare competed at 5 state meets with EBSC and had gone to sectionals with BEHS all three years of her high school career. She’s always by the water, giving lessons and coaching year-round and lifeguarding in the summers. Reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family are some of her favorite things to do. She can’t wait for her first full season coaching AGT!

Dwight Sanvold Dryland Coach

For the past 35 years, Dwight has had the opportunity to impact lives in the coaching, performance training and sports medicine fields. This includes 12 years as a Licensed Athletic Trainer working with shoulders, backs, knees and hips. He also spent many years as a program director and swim coach. Twelve years ago, he started his own company FAST- Fitness and Sports Training LLC.  He coaches endurance athletes, teaches group strength and performance classes for high school runners, and coaches EBSC’s dryland program. 

As an athlete, Dwight played college football and ran track. He qualified for the Boston Marathon 4 times and competed at the Ironman World Championships 3 times.  He has been married to his wife Janet for 32 years and they have 3 sons.  Caleb swam at UWM and was Team Captain, Russell ran 5 years for the Badgers running on 3 Big Ten Championship Teams, and Cole is a freshman at Princeton where he is running cross country and track.
