Due to COVID-19, there are many new procedures that WAT needs to follow.

COVID-19 Rules

  • All swimmers, coaches, and lifeguards will wear masks any time they are not in the water.
  • Shoes are required on deck when entering/leaving the pool.
  • Locker rooms will remain closed at this time to all WAT swimmers.  Swimmers should come to the pool ready to get in the water, as no changing spot will be available.  Swimmers will need to be prepared to leave after drying off, but without changing.
  • Swimmers will have their temperature taken prior to entering the pool building along with verbal questions regarding any symptoms.  Swimmers exhibiting any symptoms will not be allowed to enter the building.
  • Swimmers must keep 6' distance between themselves and other swimmers to maintain social distancing (this will be aided by the number of allowed in a lane at practice).
  • Swimmers will be responsible for bringing their own equipment (fins, kickboard, buoys, etc.).  Swimmers needing to borrow WAT equipment will have a monetary deposit that will need to be paid.  Swimmers will be expected to bring their equipment to all practices.
  • Swimmers cannot arrive early or stay late due to number limits at the pool.
  • Bleachers are closed for all practices to spectators.
  • COVID-19 Waivers for Watertown Aquatic Team, Watertown Unified School District and/or Waterloo School District must be signed for participation on the team.   These forms are not available as part of registration and will be emailed for printing.

Swimmers and their families who do not follow the rules as outlined in the registration will not be allowed to practice or may be asked to leave practice early.

Rules related to COVID may change at any time due to the ongoing pandemic.  WAT will continue to work with the pool administrators, school districts, and local health officials to keep our procedures up to date.
