Coaching Staff
Carl Matson Head Coach

Coach Carl began competitive swimming at  Riverside   University   High School  in  Milwaukee , serving as team co-captain his junior and senior years.  He continued swimming at  Luther College  for two years before transferring to  Winona   State   University  to pursue an engineering degree.  He is a former WAT parent, coach and Administrative Official, and has run the  Colorado  timing system for WAT and WHS swim meets.  Coach Carl’s responsibilities include providing administrative support and supervision to the coaching staff, and working with small groups and individual swimmers for more focused instruction.

When he’s not on deck or working at 2 Rivers Bicycle, Coach Carl is planning the next great getaway with his wife and two children.

Amy Dingler Assistant Coach

Coach Amy was a singer growing up.  Yes, you read that correctly – a singer, not a swimmer!  However, after her children became interested in swimming, Coach Amy decided to learn everything she could and became a coach in Beaver Dam.  Moving to Watertown in 2021, WAT was excited to have her join WAT as a coach.  When not on deck, Coach Amy has a passion for her job in sleep medicine.  She loves playing board and card games with her two kids and has a dog named Socks.

Larissa Tomczak Assistant Coach

Coach Larissa started competitive swimming at the YMCA at a young age.  She was swim captain her senior year at Madison East High School.  During and after college she was a lifeguard and taught swim lessons.  Coach Larissa was a member of a Master's swim program for the past four years and continued to compete in indoor meets and open water races.  When she is not coaching or swimming, Coach Larissa works full-time providing residential support to people with disabilities.  She enjoys gardening and cooking.

Kristin Warnecke Assistant Coach

Coach Kristin started swimming competitively for DFAC when she was 9 years old. Going to nationals at 14 in Nashville, TN, she was also a four time state qualifier in high school.  Kristin had a first place finish in the 400 free relay which helped her team get a second place finish overall her junior year (one of my favorite personal swim memories).  Kristin graduated from UW-Parkside in 2006 with a Bachelors of Art with an emphasis is graphic design.  Formerly a coach at Waterloo (where she found her love of coaching), Coach Kristin is excited to be back with WAT!  She love art, hanging out with my kids, and of course swimming.

Andrew Wheeler Assistant Coach

Coach Andy swam competitively for a team much like WAT as a young swimmer.  He swam for the Stoughton High School Vikings, where he served as team captain for two years, and then for the Carroll College Pioneers.  He has worked for WI/MN Swim Camps and as a lifeguard.  Coach Andy is thrilled to be back in the swim team atmosphere to share his knowledge and love of the sport with younger swimmers.  Coach Andy is is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard.

When Coach Andy is not on deck, he works at White House of Music in Watertown.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, camping, and music.

Emerson Milbrath Junior Coach

Coach Emmy is a former WAT swimmer who is excited to come back as a Junior Coach!  She started with WAT when she was 6 years old.  Her favorite event to swim was the 100 backstroke and at one point her name was on the WAT record board as part of the 400 medley relay team.  Coach Emmy grew up with WAT and it holds a very special place in her heart.  She is currently a junior at Lakeside Lutheran High School where she is heavily involved with the marching and concert band programs.  She is excited to pass her love of WAT and swimming on to our current swimmers.
