GROUP DESCRIPTIONS

Zebra Sharks: Learn to swim. Swimmers must be able to tread water and swim a length of the pool (25 yards); however, zero prior swim team experience is required.  Development of basic technique in the four competitive strokes in a positive environment with the primary emphasis on freestyle and backstroke. Swimmers will execute stroke drills repeatedly to form good habits. Home meets are required. 

Tiger Sharks: Basic technique in all four competitive strokes. Swimmer must be able to swim 50 yards of both freestyle and backstroke. More emphasis will be placed upon starts, turns, and conditioning. Swimmers will execute stroke drills repeatedly to form good habits. Home meets are required.

Bull Sharks: A competitive group for developing young swimmers; with approval of the FAST coaching staff. Intermediate technique of the four competitive strokes. Introduction to beginning competitive swimming with repeated stroke workand drills. Swimmer must be able to listen to instruction, read the pace clock and complete sets required by the coach. Attendance goal is four practices per week. All FAST team meets are required.

Megalodon Sharks: A highly competitive group for the most advanced swimmer; with the approval of the FAST coaching staff. Advance technique of the four competitive strokes. Endurance training and working towards achieving the challenges set by the coaches. Swimmer must be able to listen to instruction, read the pace clock and complete sets required by the coach. Attendance goal is five practices per week. All FAST team meets are required.

High School:  Must be at least a freshman and competing in WVSSAC. Designed to give high school swimmers additional endurance and work on technique. The training will be for high school swimming specific events and will focus on competing at the State Meet.   

Masters:  Athletes must be 18 years or older. Training will have a wide range, from learning to swim to training for specific competitions.
