Lead Coach - Elizabeth Arneson

Coach Elizabeth began as an assistant coach with the NW Tucson YMCA in May of 2014 time to help coach the summer swim team to second place in their division.  She continued with the team as a club coach and eventually started a new team with her coaching partner.  Her focus was with the younger swimmers and those new to swimming. Several of her swimmers made regionals and state this year in her three years coaching but one that stands out is the who started with SAAA in the summer of 2014 with no swim experience made state in the 50 backstroke in July of 2015.

Though she always loved the water and took lessons until she aged out, she did not start swimming competitively until she was a 7th grader. She fell in love immediately and swam and played water polo all the way through high school under the well-known coach Bud Taylor in Oregon. She started her high school career swimming the 200 and 500 hundred freestyle but moved to 50 free and 100 fly in her sophomore year and continued to swim those events the rest of her career.

Coach Elizabeth loves to share the sport of swimming and is very excited to be back on deck with FAST this summer coaching the SAAA team.
