USA Swimming Officials Page with Links & Resources

Current Officials:

1. Annually: complete a USA Swimming non-athlete registration HERE

  • Email your completed form to the IES Office: [email protected]
  • Mail the hard copy and your payment to:
  • Inland Empire Swimming * P.O. Box 8085, Moscow, ID 83843.

Check with your team prior to mailing payment - some teams register their officials as a group, and provide reimbursement to officials in recognition of the additional effort this requires.

2. Pass the required background check (BGC). The BGC is valid for two (2) years.

3. Complete the annual Athlete Protection Training (APT)

4. Complete the (one-time) Concussion Training Protocols certification.

Officials in Training:

1. Complete the same steps as current officials, 1 - 4, above. These items must be completed and visible on the USA Swimming OTS site prior to working on deck.

2. Take and pass the certification examination at USA Swimming website (Officials Training): Stroke and Turn, Starter, Referee, Administrative Official, Administrative Referee, etc.

3. Complete and record the minimum hours under instruction at USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets (see links, below)

4. Watch the USA Swimming training DVD - which can be obtained from a listed trainer or from the Officials Chairman. There is a DVD for Stroke and Turn, and Starter.
