We learned 3 things at the meet this weekend: 1 - It is fun to race swimmers from other teams. 2 - We are still fast, but we need to work on our endurance. 3 - I have forgotten how to take pictures on my phone (Note the pictures on this article). The Mighty Marlins held a Protocol Perfect Meet at MP on May 1st! Congrats to our computer crew, officials and timers for running a smooth meet! Marlin Swimmers had over 30 best times and enjoyed racing each other. Also we set a standard for the way meets can be run at MP in the future! Way to go Marlins!

The Marlins again totalled massive numbers of best times at Intraquad Meet #2 at the WEST Pool! Maddie Kinsey and Lucas Palmer led the way with 6 best times each. Alora DeVera had 5 best times. Katherine Carlson, Coren Coe, Sarah Fleischmann, and Olivia Wiley had 4 each. Lloyd Hau, Taylor Kenoyer, Ryker Lichtenberg, and Laird Marlatt had 3 each. Marlins with 2 best times were: Katelyn Darrah, Erik Kristensen, Autumn Marlatt, and EmmaLee Stewart, and Nathan Fleischmann had 1 best time! Way to get it going Mighty Marlins!

The Mighty Marlins had their first opportunity to record official times in over a year at the intersquad meet in Mill Creek! Amazingly the Marlin swimmers totaled 54 best times. Leading the way with 6 best times were: Katherine Carlson, Sarah Fleischmann, and Ryker Lichtenberg. Coren Coe and Olivia Wiley notched 5 best times. Lloyd Hau had 4 best times. The Mighty Marlins are back in action with a meet that will be held at the WEST pool in Mill Creek! Under strict protocol a meet will be run with a very limited number of swimmers, and people running the meet! This will be sanctioned, so times will count! Look fo more meets as we work to try and schedule more events. We will debrief after this meet and discuss ways to improve the meet so we can offer more in the future. Madelynn Butler led the way for the Marlins at Age Group PNS Champs.  She was top 16 in all 6 of her events, highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 100 free.  She also took 4th in the 50 free, 7th in the 100 fly, 8th in the 200 fly, 9th in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 free.  Sakura Gabora also scored in all 6 of her events, with a 6th in the 200 free, 10th in the 100 free and fly, 11th in the 50...

The Mighty Marlins hosted a hugely successful Divisional Champs Meet at MP Pool.  It was all hands on deck, literally, as multitudes of Marlin parents helped their kids enjoy success by devoting their time and energy to the meet.  Two Marlins won the overall award for top score in the pentathlon for 10 & unders.  Sakura Gabor won all 5 of her events on the way to the award, and Andrew Gaydamachuk took 4 of 5.  Marlins with individual victories included Lucas Palmer with 6, Madelynn Butler, Lloyd Hau, and...

In his last chance to make a PNS Champs time, Lloyd Hau dropped 10 seconds in the 200 breaststroke, easily making the qualifying time.  At the meet several Marlins were victorious.  Karlie Rimat won all 6 of her events, Sakura Gabor won 4 and made a regional time, Madelyn Butler won 3, and Lucas Palmer and Anna Veazey each won one event.  Other Marlins with top 6 finishes included: Emma Betancourt, Natalie Divita, Shaan Kumar, and Gideon Marlatt.

Katelyn Darrah took 3rd in the 50 breast, and Lincoln Thompson was 8th in the 100 back at the Q Meet in Federal Way!  Marlins with best times at the meet included: Devyn Zurel with 3, Brie Thompson and Philip Wold 2 each, and Evan Wold, Shaan Kumar, and Ryker Lichtenberg 1 each!  Way to Q it up Marlins!

Madelynn Butler led the way at the Chinook Pentathlon in Mercer Island.  She took first overall in the Pentathlon, where all 5 events you swim are calculated together to determine the overall champion.  Lincoln Thompson, Philip Wold, and Sakura Gabor, each scored in the top 6 overall earning themselves a trophy!  Natalie Bennett, Katelyn Darrah, Shaan Kumar, Brie Thompson, Kaitlin Wegers, and Evan Wold also swam very well at the meet!
