The Mighty Marlins did represent at the District-1, 3A and 4A Championships at Snohomish this weekend. At the 4A Championships Coren Coe had a great meet taking 3rd in the 200 IM and 100 fly. The Mighty Marlins showed the swimming world how party and swim a swim meet at the same time! Dressed in Hawaiian garb, the Marlins swam as hot as the Hawaiian sun. Five Marlins swam their first meet as a Marlin, and did exceptionally well. The Pakinas squad of Esther, Jane, Daphne and Claire excelled at the meet, as did Teagan Betsworth. Four Mighty Marlins made the tough qualifying time standards for, and swam at the Washington Open Meet in Federal Way this weekend. Ryker Lichtenberg showed the payoff of practicing with the Marlins in the morning, and his high school team at night. He improved time in his 50 fly, 100 back, and 100 free! Four Mighty Marlins take on the state of Washington at the Washington State Senior Champs Meet in Federal Way this weekend. Savannah Foley was the only Marlin swimming individual events. She improved in both her 50 back and 100 back, moving up 10 places from her seed time in each event. Many Mighty Marlins made the finals at the Fall Divisional Champs we hosted at Kamiak High School. Kudos to all the volunteers, many of which were there from early in the morning to late in the evening. It is very rewarding to watch a group come together and put on a very successful event.
