Katelyn Darrah hit her first 2 Regional times of the year at the Feb. Divisionals in Anacortes! She made the 100, and 200 breaststroke with phenomenal swims to win both of them. Many Mighty Marlins had Multiople top 6 finishes at the NWAC Valentine Meet in Oak Harbor. Emma Betancourt led the way with 8 top 6 finishes, Evan Wold contributed 7 including 1 victory. Philip Wold and Coren Coe each had 4 top 6 finishes including 2 victories, and Amelia George, Katelyn Darrah, and Nanako Kempma each had 4 top 6 finishes as well. Evan Wold hit his first Age Group Regional qualifying time of the season this weekend by swimming a quick 2:30.48 in the 200 butterfly. The swim was 1 of 7 best times for Evan at the meet. Sarah Fleischmann, Caiden Zurel and Devyn Zurel each chipped in 5 best times. Emma Betancourt, Gweneth Canares, and Trevor Perkins had 4 best times each. Ten Marlins battled in events that had as many as 470 swimmers at the Washington Open in Federal Way. The meet draws teams from all over the country and is very competetive. Isaac Giordano managed 3 finals in the meet taking 7th in the 200 fly, 11th in the 100n fly, and 14th in the 200 breast. Karlie participoated in the TYR Pro Series Swim Meet in Knoxville Tennessee the weekend of Jan. 17-20. Karlie swam an impressive 2:19.79 in the 200 fly finishing 27th in a very strong field that included many current, and future, Olympians. Karlie also competed in the 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly and did very well in both. Way to Represent Karlie!

The Mighty Marlins hosted a hugely successful Divisional Champs Meet at MP Pool.  It was all hands on deck, literally, as multitudes of Marlin parents helped their kids enjoy success by devoting their time and energy to the meet.  Two Marlins won the overall award for top score in the pentathlon for 10 & unders.  Sakura Gabor won all 5 of her events on the way to the award, and Andrew Gaydamachuk took 4 of 5.  Marlins with individual victories included Lucas Palmer with 6, Madelynn Butler, Lloyd Hau, and...

In his last chance to make a PNS Champs time, Lloyd Hau dropped 10 seconds in the 200 breaststroke, easily making the qualifying time.  At the meet several Marlins were victorious.  Karlie Rimat won all 6 of her events, Sakura Gabor won 4 and made a regional time, Madelyn Butler won 3, and Lucas Palmer and Anna Veazey each won one event.  Other Marlins with top 6 finishes included: Emma Betancourt, Natalie Divita, Shaan Kumar, and Gideon Marlatt.

Katelyn Darrah took 3rd in the 50 breast, and Lincoln Thompson was 8th in the 100 back at the Q Meet in Federal Way!  Marlins with best times at the meet included: Devyn Zurel with 3, Brie Thompson and Philip Wold 2 each, and Evan Wold, Shaan Kumar, and Ryker Lichtenberg 1 each!  Way to Q it up Marlins!

Madelynn Butler led the way at the Chinook Pentathlon in Mercer Island.  She took first overall in the Pentathlon, where all 5 events you swim are calculated together to determine the overall champion.  Lincoln Thompson, Philip Wold, and Sakura Gabor, each scored in the top 6 overall earning themselves a trophy!  Natalie Bennett, Katelyn Darrah, Shaan Kumar, Brie Thompson, Kaitlin Wegers, and Evan Wold also swam very well at the meet!
