Swim Birmingham YMCA broke into the new year with stellar performances in Memphis, TN this past weekend during the annual Gabrielle Rose Invite. SBY's 23 swimmers took on almost 600 athletes representing 16 teams from 7 states ranging from Louisiana to Ohio who were all vying for a spot in finals each night. At the conclusion of Sunday evening's session, the team had accounted for 73 swims in finals, 28 of which were Top 3 finishes, and a whopping 14 (50%) of those were 1st place finishes and Event Champions!...

Swim Birmingham YMCA's Austin Stallworth has announced his verbal commitment to Birmingham Southern College! Austin will graduate from Spain Park High School in May 2020 and join the BSC Panther's class of 2024 under Head Coach Toby Wilcox. This past weekend, Swim Birmingham YMCA rolled into the James E. Martin Aquatic center in Auburn, Alabama on a mission. The team boasted thirty-one (31) athletes representing ten (10) High Schools over the course of the competition. Twenty-seven (27) of those athletes helped their respective High Schools score points at the meet. Berry, Georgia!  Sydney will join the Berry Vikings in the fall of 2019 as an immediate scoring threat for the team in Butterfly, Breaststroke, and IM events in the Southern Athletic Conference. Swim Birmingham YMCA Alum, Josie McGuire has finished her Freshman year swimming for the United States Coast Guard Academy with resounding success!  Already having earned All-Conference status in February, Josie competed in both the 800 Free Relay and 1650 Free at the NCAA DIII National Championships held in Greensboro, NC this past week.  Josie anchored her team’s 800 Free Relay which finished 7th and earned her 2019 Division III All-American Honors!
