                                       A Message from Coach Todd

Greetings Wahoo Families and Swimmers,

A formal communication from me is long overdue. A warm Welcome to anyone who is NEW to the Wahoos and a “Welcome Back” shout out to ALL Wahoos and Team Parents!

Here are some points of interest.

New Coach (Jace Young) - Our new addition to our awesome Coaching staff has been with us a few weeks and is enjoying his acclimation to The Wahoos – if you haven’t already Welcomed him to our team – please take the time to introduce yourself.

Recognition Day – It was so very special to come together as a Team to celebrate recently at Rolling Hills Country Club – if you were unable to attend, please make sure to receive your trophy and yearbook for the VPs or from the Coaches in the Wahoo Office.

May qualifier – Our kickoff meet was a huge success- thank you to ALL who volunteered at this past weekend’s home meet- it was very well run and a great way to kick off our Long Couse Competitive Season.

Bubble Down – This weekend there will be no practices on Friday 5/20 or Saturday 5/21 due to bubble down – volunteers are still needed – thanks 😊

Memorial Day Parade – We are looking forward to joining the Wilton Memorial Day Parade once again – ALL WAHOOS are encouraged to join in the fun.

June Home Meet – Entries are complete for our next meet that will be outdoors and will be an exciting opportunity for a Trials and Finals competition.

Senior Brunch – A Tradition to honor our Graduating Senior will take place on Sunday June 12th.

June Travel meet (13/overs) – We are looking forward to traveling north of Boston with 50 of our 13/ over swimmers – Chaperones will be Mrs. Fontana, Mrs. DiLullo and Mr. VanVelzor.

Summer Practice Schedule – We will begin Summer Practice Schedule on Monday 6/20, but there will not be morning practices on Monday or Tuesday morning for the senior squad as school is still in session. The schedule will be posted soon.

50th Anniversary Reunion and Celebration – We are looking forward to this historic event – if you are a Wahoo parent or swimmer who is age 15 or older, please come out and join the celebration- registration is open.

Practice Preparedness/ Dryland Training - Punctuality- preparedness and participation is something ALL Wahoos should take pride in – be on time- have your equipment – and come to practice- the keys to success! There are many swimmers missing dryland training- this can change.

Meet Sign ups – Parents, a reminder to read email communication and sign your swimmers up for meets in a timely fashion – thanks.

Wahoo Attire/Suits – We are a Team that prides itself on looking like a Team at ALL competitions- a team suit and Wahoo team apparel at meets please.

Squad Descriptions – The Coaching staff is in the process of reworking all training squad descriptions and expectations for the fall which will clarify the goals, expectations, and parameters of each of our training groups.

Long Range Planning – We are in the process of also putting together a long-range planning calendar which will assist swim families in what to plan for well in advance of Team events.

I hope that you found this helpful and informative!

 All my best,

Todd Stevens
