BLUE TRAINING GROUP
This is a competitive swimming training group for swimmers 10-14 years old. While focused on the continuation of development, the preparation for success in championship style of meets is introduced. With the swimmers aerobic training base foundation, the Blue training group will emphasis race strategy and execution, advanced stroke mechanics and mental focus and preparation while increasing the overall training workload.
Evaluation Guidelines and Requirements for Entry into Blue Training Group
- Good listening skills
- Strong kick and aerobic base
- Legal in all four strokes
- Ability to read the pace clock
- Ability to complete the following sets with proficient technique in streamlines, turns, kicking:
8 X 100 free on 1:45
8 X 100 kick on 2:15
6 x 100 IM on 2:00
500 free faster than: 7:15
200 IM faster than: 3:15
Practices Per Week & Length
- 4-5 practices per week
- 1 hour 30 minutes per practice
Blue Equipment Needed
Your own: Suit, cap, goggles, water bottle, towel, kickboard, pull buoy, fins, snorkel (your choice/preference)
Optional: hand paddles (your choice/preference)
