YMCA COVID/Quarantine & Return Guidelines
To return to the YMCA and participate in any offered programming after either testing positive or knowingly coming into contact with a person that has tested positive the YMCA requires the following (per CDC guidelines):
Defining "Close Contact"
- You were within 6ft of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more
- You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19
- You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them)
- You share eating or drinking utensils
- They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you
Who does NOT have to quarantine?
- Those fully vaccinated or who have had COVID-19 within the past 3 months (90 days): after coming in close contact with someone who has COVID-19...as long as they do not develop symptoms
Who DOES have to quarantine and when can they return to Swim Team activities?
- A swimmer testing positive may return under the following guidelines AND with Doctor's clearance (negative test)
(Day 1 is the first full day after your symptoms developed or the day test was taken)- ASYMPTOMATIC but testing positive: 5 day quarantine
- SYMPTOMATIC: A 5-day quarantine beginning after all symptoms have disappeared, including fever-free for at least 24hrs without medication
- If you were severly ill - 10 Day Quarantine
- A swimmer with NO SYMPTOMS having come in contact with another individual that has or does test positive
- After a 5 day Quarantine (beginning after the last known contact with a person that tested positive) AND a negative test 5 days or later after contact
- The 5 day period may not begin until...
- The swimmer has no further contact with the infected person
- The infected person is deemed no longer contagious
