USA Swimming is committed to the protection of it's youth and members.
"The key aspect to the success of the Safe Sport program is for every member to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity that might be a violation of our Code of Conduct. We simply cannot assume that those being abused will voluntarily come forward, even if given the opportunity to do so in a confidential manner. "
Tim Hinchey III

USA Swimming 'Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy'
NOTE: MAAPP "will not apply to Applicable Adults and their interactions with minor athletes unrelated to USA Swimming Activities.
- REQUIRED 'Athlete Protection Training' for Adult (18 and Older) Athletes, Coaches, & Officials
- Adult athletes must complete the "Athlete Protection Training: SafeSport TM Trained core course" initially, then a refresher course each successive year that they remain USA Registered.
- DO NOT take "Safe Sport for Adult Athletes" - this does not count towards the requirement for 18&Older Athletes.
- This course must be renewed Annually (Core Course, Refresher #1, Refresher #2, Refresher #3)
- This course must be taken by the swimmer logged into THEIR OWN SWIMS account. If a swimmer takes it while logged into a parent's account it will not count, a new SWIMMER account will need to be created, and the swimmer will need to re-take the course to be eligible.
