Coaching with the Barracudas: Since the team began in 2005
Coaching Philosophy: Promote Leadership, Respect & Honesty and as for swimming, its technique first! There are 3 ways to become a faster swimmer; improve your technique, get stronger and get taller. I can help you with the first two.
How long have you been coaching?.... "I've been coaching since I was 14 years old. I've coached gymnastics, swimming and diving at the YMCA, High School, and University intramural levels."

Years Coaching: 47 years
Coaching with the Barracudas: Since 2010
Coaching Philosophy: If all I teach my swimmers is to swim fast then I have not done a good job. I try to keep in mind that there are other things in life besides sports and swimming is only a part of life. I also believe that each swimmer has something unique to offer the team and that it is my job as coach to find that something.
What was your first coaching job? "The Cuyahoga Falls Y & Maplewood Park Rec Club in 1971."
What sports did you play when you were younger? "I didn't play, I was serious! I played youth foodball in 5th & 6th grade until I got involved in swimming at the Cuyahoga Falls Y. I was a varsity swimmer & water polo player in HS & college. I've been a Masters swimmer until recently."
What do you like to do in your free time? "Computer games, yard work, swimming and scuba diving."

Coaching Philosophy: Never say 'can't'. That is the worst 4-letter word. It's just one letter short of CAN.
What other sports have you done, or do you currently participate in? "Cross country, track & field, wrestling, triathlon, marathons in HS, endurance biking - the longer the better."
What do you like to do in your free time? "all things survival and woodsmanship"
