Her Message:

Hello Dolphin families!

I feel so blessed to have been able to help again in a very small way this year after a hiatus.  I have so thoroughly enjoyed being with the novice swimmers!  They are always so cheerful and work so hard on learning all their new swim skills.  It’s always special to see each swimmer make progress towards their own personal best 😁

Congratulations on a season well done!

His Message:

This year I helped around the pool at the beginning of the season mostly and supported our USA Swim meets. It's always fun seeing the kids' improvements and enthusiasm for swimming. I enjoyed especially being able to be around my kids Abby (15) and Michael (18). Our swimmers have all come such a long way and I'm so proud of their progress! Go Dolphins!!!

Coach Mike Urgo Jr.

Thank You Coach Mike Urgo!

Coach Mike Urgo went through the formal process of becoming a USA Swimming Jr. Coach as part of his senior project. He helped many Dolphin swimmers in both pools this year!

His message:

I loved coaching all the kids who have helped me make my senior project a joy to complete. I wish all of them luck in their future years and hope they get as much out of swimming as much as I have all these years.

Her Message:

I have to say during the past few years I have seen the continual formation of amazing swimmers. It’s remarkable how these young children start with the basics and really grow into strong, confident swimmers . The coaches are truly wonderful. They are so dedicated and positive.

That’s what I noticed and I’m glad to have helped.

Coach-Aide London Armitage

Thank You Coach-Aide London Armitage!

This year we had Dolphin swimmers who were Coaches-Aides. Being a Coaches-Aide allowed the helper to earn volunteer credits for school and helped our developing swimmer get more personal attention. Most importantly, our little Dolphins got to know some hero athletes!

Her Message:

I love being able to coach the littles and help them enjoy the water as much as I have.

Thank you Coach Kristina Kenyon!

Her message:

This is my 7th season coaching for the Novice Program and it has been another great year in the Buckley Pool! These kids work so hard during each practice and to be part of each swimmer learning to love the water and to experience their first meet is so rewarding. It is well worth the time to see their smiles and their excitement when they hit the wall after their first race. Wishing all of our swimmers...both bigs and littles...lots of luck at SENECYs and New Englands!

Swim fast and have fun!

Coach Kristina

His message:
This was my first time coaching such a young group of swimmers and I honestly had a great time. Watching those kids swim and constantly grow and excel reminded me of my earlier years of swimming. I’m happy I’ve been able to share the knowledge I have gathered with these kids and I loved watching them grow and fall in love with the sport.

I am coaching the Novice Team which is all different ages and super fun!

I have two kids on the swim team: Hudson & Willow.

I think it is really important to know how to swim! When I was growing up, I had a lot of wonderful and dedicated coaches (including my dad) so just passing it on!

I swam for the Westerly Dolphins!!

I was more of a helper than a coach, but I truly loved meeting so many of the kids on deck and cheering them on over the last almost 10 years.  This was my last year and I will truly miss my swim family more than words can say, thanks for sharing your kids with me.
