BREAKERS SWIM TEAM ASSESSMENTS 
 

To ensure swimmers are placed in the appropriate practice group, all participants must complete a swim assessment prior to joinng the team. Below are the following assessment and age requirements for each of our practice groups:  

LEVEL 1 (8 & Under): one length of the lap pool freestyle without stopping and one length of the lap pool backstroke without stopping
LEVEL 2 (9 & Over): 50 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 50 Breaststroke and 25 Butterfly
LEVEL 3 (9 & Over): 200 Freestyle with flip turns and a 200 IM with technically correct strokes). Both 200s are to be completed in 4 minutes or under.
LEVEL 4 (9 & Over): 5 x 100 (yards) in 1:45 interval. 400 IM in under 7 minutes.   

If your child is not ready to complete one of the assessments above, both the Moody and Semones Family YMCAS offer Stroke Mechanic classes that can prepare them for their assessment! Please contact our Aquatics departments for further information on our classes and how to enroll.

 ASSESSMENT DATES: 2022 - 2023 SWIM SEASON

Our first round of assessments for our 2022-2023 Swim Season have ofically ended. We invite you to add your swimmer's name to our swim team interest form so we may be in touch when our next round of assessments are scheduled. Those on our interest form will receive priority to our next round of assessments: North Dallas YMCA Swim Team: Interest form. We will contact you as soon as space becomes available!
