Pacific Swimming
Menlo Aquatics has been a part of the Menlo park community since 2006. Menlo Aquatics began as a summer only recreational team called Menlo Mavericks. As the years had passed, more families were interested in a year-round program to keep their swimmers in the water and excited about swimming, so we opened our pool longer and began offering a year-round recreational swim team. The program at this time was led by Juliette Applewhite and led to the program hopping on board with the local recreation swim league, West Bay Swim League (WBSL), which consisted of 5 other local summer swim teams from Mountain View to Redwood City. In 2011, Juliette stepped down as the Head Coach which brought in our current Head Coach, Aaron Higgins. Since then, Menlo Mavericks has evolved into a year-round USA Swimming program, Menlo Aquatics.
In 2015, we shifted from our traditional name Menlo Mavericks to our current name, Menlo Aquatics. We currently offer 2 programs within our swimming community; Menlo Mavericks, which exists as our Summer only recreational program. This program typically runs from May- August and continues to grow and be a part of the WBSL. Menlo Aquatics exists as our year-round program that houses athletes looking for constant and never-ending improvement. This program works with those athletes that participate on school swim teams as well as those that are looking to compete for a college upon high school graduation.
Each of our coaches have access to the most comprehensive training and certification programs for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.
Although we are not a non-profit organization, we do our best to keep our program very community centric as well as keep our costs very reasonable. We offer many team activities outside of swimming to allow swimmers and parents a social atmosphere to build and bridge our team together.
Menlo Aquatics accepts new members throughout the year. We offer evaluations on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Please email Coach Aaron to confirm Wednesdays around Holidays. Also, if you are unable to make a Wednesday, please email Coach Aaron, we may be able to accommodate.
