Goldfins Swim Series January 2020 Post Meet Report

The Goldfins Swim Club celebrated 40 White 1 & 2 Group swimmers' progress at the first Goldfins Swim Series swim meet, January 25, 2020, Shaw Centre.  The Goldfins Swim Series is a unique competitive opportunity for the Goldfins White 1 & 2 Groups.  

The Goldfins Swim Series was held during White 1 & 2’s regularly scheduled Saturday AM training session.  This series of competitions has been facilitated to develop improved levels of swimming efficiency and skills in a welcoming and supportive competitive environment.  It is designed to assist White swimmers to learn to race with confidence, gain endurance and improve stroke technique. This series of competition is designed by our coaches to be an innovative skills-based swimming program intended to be mastered by the Goldfins White group swimmers.  

In addition to timing the events; swimmers were evaluated based on a required swimming stroke and skill segments. 

The January 2020 Swim Series featured events: 50 Freestyle, 25 Breaststroke, 50 Backstroke, 25 Fly, and the 4 X 25 Freestyle Relay.

50M Freestyle:

The Goldfins White 1 & 2 swimmers posted 109 non-sanctioned personal best short course times. 

Congratulations to the Top 3 Most Improved Goldfins:

  1. Lavinia Cheng                                 50 Freestyle       “-5.49”
  2. Jasmine Keindel-Jelisavac             25 Breaststroke “-4.79”
  3. Olivia Hoffmann                              50 Freestyle       “-4.66”

Registration is now open for the upcoming Saskatchewan Short Course Junior Championships and for the Goldfins Swim Series – February 2020.Please register your swimmers for these events as soon as possible.
